David Luiz, former Brazilian defender of PSG, could have played for Marseille but declined the opportunity, explaining his decision.

David Luiz, one of the players from the pre-Neymar era at PSG, had the chance to follow in the footsteps of Gabriel Heinze and become a key player for Marseille. However, the Brazilian, who later played for Chelsea and Arsenal, turned down the offer.

“Sampaoli (Marseille’s coach) was one of those who wanted to bring me to OM. At the time I signed with Flamengo, he was in Marseille. He traveled and met me in Angra (Brazil). He wanted me to go to Marseille. With all the respect I have for him, I replied that I have a history with PSG and, out of respect, I couldn’t go to OM,” he told a Brazilian media outlet.
