PSG is in search of a stadium and, more importantly, a new location for various activities: according to L’Equipe, the city of Châteaudun has volunteered.

Those who find Yvelines or Seine Saint Denis too far away will surely be surprised: the city of Châteaudun is offering to host PSG’s new stadium. Located approximately 81 miles from the capital, in Eure-et-Loir, this city has submitted a bid for the construction of a future stadium with a capacity of 60,000 seats, as reported by L’Equipe.

There’s just one catch: Châteaudun is approximately 81 miles from the capital. However, Mayor Fabien Verdier extols the virtues of his city: close to the southwest of Paris (Yvelines or Essone) and the A10 and A11 motorways. Spectators could thus come by car… or by TGV (France’s High Speed Train). According to L’Equipe, the mayor emphasizes that “it is possible to create a TGV station on the route leading to Tours and Bordeaux.”

Will the TGV Come to PSG’s Rescue?

However, the likelihood of this materializing is slim. “Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Aulnay-sous-Bois, and Gonesse, which has the support of the Roissy-Pays-de-France agglomeration, have also positioned themselves,” notes L’Equipe.

PSG and its new shareholder Arctos Partners are seeking to create a “PSG Land” with numerous activities. The idea of settling in one of the racecourses near the capital has not been abandoned.
