The 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or were unveiled last week, and Adrien Rabiot didn’t find his name on the list. In an interview with L’Equipe, he expressed his disappointment.

Despite having a strong season with Juventus and delivering impressive performances during the World Cup as part of the French national team, Rabiot didn’t make the cut for the Ballon d’Or 2023 shortlist, and he’s not pleased about it.

“I can’t say I’m indifferent to it (about his absence) because I believe I had an outstanding individual season. When I saw some of the players who made the list, I thought it wasn’t necessarily fair,” said the 28-year-old midfielder.

“But I’ve never been someone who actively seeks individual awards; I’m focused on the collective. Those responsible for these decisions may not consider a player’s entire season. Sometimes, one or two standout matches in the Champions League might be enough,” explained Rabiot.
