PSG does not prioritize recruiting a central defender in this transfer window. Here’s why.

PSG has yet to really kick off its summer transfer market activities. So far, they have only signed Russian goalkeeper Safonov. Since then, there have been rumors and counter-rumors, but no new players have joined. The pursuit of defender Dean Huisjen has ultimately been abandoned.

Why? It’s hard to say, but according to PSG Inside Actus, the reason is simple: “Paris Saint-Germain does not make signing a central defender a priority.” With Beraldo, Kimpembe, Hernandez, Danilo, Marquinhos, and Skriniar, PSG is well-stocked in this area. Luis Enrique seems to prioritize strengthening the midfield and attack first.

PSG on Several Fronts

However, this does not mean PSG has abandoned all their targets. According to PSG Inside Actus, Lutsharel Geertruida, Antonio Silva, and Ibrahima Konaté are still being pursued. On the other hand, PSG will not sign Todibo, Upamecano, or Simakan.
