Champions League: PSG can believe in their chances—Barcelona and Liverpool are not superior.
Is the path to the quarterfinals wide open for PSG? Now qualified for the Champions League Round of 16, Paris Saint-Germain will face either FC Barcelona or Liverpool in the next stage.
A tough challenge? Not according to Eric Roy, the Brest manager, who experienced PSG’s firepower firsthand in the playoffs (0-3, 0-7) and also faced Barcelona in a 3-0 loss on November 26 in Ligue 1.
“Paris will have every chance, no matter the opponent,” Roy said in a press conference. “It will be a great test. Having played against both, I am more impressed by PSG. Liverpool is a strong team, but they haven’t yet faced an opponent as dominant as PSG.”
With this vote of confidence, PSG approaches the Round of 16 with high ambitions, determined to prove they are among Europe’s elite.
