Rennes fell 1-4 to PSG on Matchday 25 of Ligue 1, despite a promising reaction after pulling one back. In the end, the Parisians proved ruthless.
Rennes goalkeeper Brice Samba acknowledged PSG’s superiority despite his team’s efforts:
“We weren’t far off, and when you play against them, you feel like you’re close… but in the end, the score is what it is.”
“We had a solid 20-minute spell after we scored, but we were missing that little extra to come back. These teams finish you off coldly. We’ll learn from our mistakes to improve.”
Lilian Brassier: “We Gave Them Problems”
Rennes defender Lilian Brassier, who scored his team’s only goal, took pride in their performance:
“I think we can be proud of ourselves, we showed some great things today. But we have to be realistic—when they make their substitutions, it gets even harder.”
“It came down to that, and we couldn’t withstand the second wave. Yes, we worked hard and gave them problems. I’m proud of the team today. We train hard every day, and we try to show that on the pitch.”
