Ousmane Dembélé has emerged as PSG’s new attacking leader, continuing his impressive scoring streak in recent matches.
The Turning Point?
Long criticized for his lack of efficiency, Dembélé has completely transformed at PSG. With 21 goals and 6 assists in 27 matches across all competitions, he now stands as Ligue 1’s top scorer, boasting 16 goals in 19 league appearances.
During PSG’s 4-1 victory over Monaco, the French international added another brace, bringing his total to 12 goals since the start of 2025. His remarkable form has been acknowledged by his teammate Nuno Mendes, who praised his unpredictability and impact on PSG’s game: “We have this unpredictable element that troubles opponents. We play high up the pitch, as far from our goal as possible, which is key to unsettling the opposition,” said Mendes.
Dembélé Thriving in a Central Role
“He is in top form, and we try to provide him with the right balls to keep this momentum going, but the most important thing is the team’s victory,” Mendes added.
Even Luis Enrique highlighted Dembélé’s transformation in his press conference: “Ousmane’s natural position is on the right, but we see what he brings in a central role right now. We adapt based on the match, the players’ current form, and seek versatility,” the PSG coach explained.
