Paris Saint-Germain loves playing on March 11! Exactly 10 years after eliminating Chelsea (2-2, 1-1 agg.) and five years after overcoming Dortmund (2-0, 1-2 agg.), the French giants have once again made history.
This time, they defeated Liverpool (1-0, 4-1 pens.) to secure their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
“We Have No Limits”
Speaking to Canal+, Marquinhos expressed his pride in the team’s performance: “This shows the strength of our team. We played a great match, and we truly deserved this qualification over both legs. There’s no debate. March 11… it’s Chelsea, it’s Dortmund… it’s a special day for us.”
The PSG captain also praised the squad’s youth and ambition:
“Coming here and winning at Anfield with one of the youngest teams in the Champions League… everyone is doing an incredible job. I’m very happy. We have no limits, but we can’t stop here. It’s only the Round of 16—this match could have been a final.”
Next Up: A Favorable Draw and a Big Domestic Clash
PSG will face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the quarter-finals, two opponents that seem manageable on paper.
But before that, another huge challenge awaits: Le Classique against Marseille this Sunday. No time to rest for Luis Enrique’s squad!
