Lionel Messi has once again opened up about his difficult two-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain (2021-2023).
For the Argentine superstar, life at PSG was far from enjoyable. After his emotional departure from FC Barcelona, he hoped to thrive in the French capital. However, despite playing alongside Neymar, he never found happiness at the club.
Speaking to Apple Music, Messi reflected on his time in Paris: “Moving to Inter Miami was an opportunity, especially after the way things unfolded during my last years in Paris. It was a decision I had to make quickly because I had to leave Barcelona… I went through two years that I did not enjoy.”
Messi admitted struggling to adapt and feeling unhappy on a daily basis. “I wasn’t happy on a day-to-day basis, whether it was during training or matches. I found it hard to adjust to everything.”
