Lille was completely outclassed, falling 4-1 to a dominant PSG. Even LOSC players acknowledged the massive gap between the two teams.
Striker Jonathan David admitted to DAZN: “I’m frustrated and disappointed. We wanted to show a better face, but Paris is a great team and proves why they are at the top. We tried to react in the second half, but we need to learn from this ahead of Dortmund.”
Defender Bafodé Diakité also praised PSG’s strength: “It was tough; they attack from everywhere. This season, we can feel a real collective spirit in Paris, which wasn’t always the case before. Now, we must focus on Dortmund.”
“They Are on Another Planet”
Lille coach Bruno Génésio acknowledged PSG’s dominance, telling DAZN:
“In this league, there is Paris, Paris, and Paris. The others fight for what remains. They are on another planet compared to the other 17 teams in this championship.”
However, Génésio criticized the LFP for refusing Lille’s request to postpone the match before their Champions League fixture:
“We play Dortmund on Tuesday, and all our decisions took that into account. Maybe the league could have done better for us. But my priority is my players’ health,” he stated.
