In an announcement on Friday, the Parisian coach revealed that the players have participated in a vote to choose their captain and vice-captains for the upcoming season.
“There is a vote either yesterday or today. As soon as I have the names, I won’t have any problem giving them to you,” he stated during a press conference. “It’s very simple, I don’t choose the captain, the players do. They gathered this week. There will be four captains, and it’s something defined by the players, not by the coach. I want it to be their captain, not my captain.”
Depending on the players’ vote, Marquinhos could potentially lose his captaincy. However, it’s likely that he will still be part of the list of four vice-captains, barring any significant surprises.
