The French Professional Football League (LFP) has decided to extend a helping hand to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) ahead of their crucial Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona.

Originally scheduled to face FC Lorient on the weekend of April 13th, the fixture has been postponed to April 24th. This decision aims to provide PSG with a better opportunity to prepare for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Barcelona, scheduled for April 16th.

“The progress of French clubs in European competitions is an absolute priority. Every point earned is fundamental for France’s UEFA coefficient,” stated the league in a press release.

“In this context, the LFP Board of Directors decided on Thursday, March 21st, to adjust the schedule for the three clubs qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League (Paris Saint-Germain), Europa League (Olympique de Marseille), and Europa Conference League (Lille), thereby putting them in the best possible position for the quarter-finals.”
