Kylian Mbappé will play his final Ligue 1 match in Metz on Sunday night with PSG.

Ligue 1 concludes tonight for Kylian Mbappé. The PSG player will spend his last minutes in the French championship after seven years in Paris. In a twist of fate, Mbappé played his first match in Parisian colors on FC Metz’s field on September 8, 2017. Since then, he has scored 256 goals in 307 matches.

Speaking to Quotidien this week, Kylian Mbappé reflected on this final game. “Paris means so much to me. Playing for such a big club, the love from the fans. An exacting audience, but one that just wants to love you. And then the titles. I’ve won many in Paris. My career took a different path at PSG. I owe that to PSG.”

“In seven years, I’ve changed. I was fresh out of high school, just finished my studies. I experienced it all with a carefree attitude. I didn’t have a house, I lived in a hotel. Now, I realize who I am more clearly.”

The true last game with PSG will be the Coupe de France final. It may not be the final Mbappé envisioned, but it would still be a fitting end…
