Kylian Mbappé (24 years old), who was substituted due to an injury in the recent Classique against Olympique de Marseille at the Parc des Princes in the closing match of the 6th round of Ligue 1 (4-0), might be unavailable for PSG in their upcoming match against Clermont (Saturday, 5 PM).

No risks will be taken with Mbappé. He sustained an ankle injury against Marseille, and the PSG forward left the Parc des Princes limping on Sunday night. PSG coach Luis Enrique has sought to reassure fans, describing it as a minor knock.

However, with the Champions League clash against Newcastle just a few days away, PSG might decide to rest Mbappé for the 7th round of Ligue 1 next Saturday.

“Mbappé might not start against Clermont to avoid risks for the Champions League. However, Luis Enrique will leave the decision to the player. If Mbappé feels fit to play, then he will, but perhaps not the entire match,” the @PSGInside_Actus Twitter account reported.

PSG provided additional updates on Wednesday evening through a medical update. “Suffering from a minor left ankle sprain, Kylian Mbappé performed indoor exercises today. Another update will be provided on Friday.”
