Kylian Mbappé is not in PSG’s squad this Sunday. He will no longer play in Ligue 1, here’s the explanation.

This Sunday’s surprise: Kylian Mbappé is not in PSG’s squad to face Metz. The player will not be saying his goodbyes to Ligue 1. Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembélé, and even Fabian Ruiz are also absent.

But why such a decision? A sanction? According to RMC, “Luis Enrique has granted three days of rest to all his key players ahead of the French Cup final on May 25th, against Lyon.

The entire Parisian squad is expected to return to training this Tuesday afternoon at the PSG Campus.” So, apparently, it’s not a “sanction” for leaving without renewing his contract. But it does seem a bit like it…

The squad for Metz/PSG:
Goalkeepers: Navas, Tenas, Letellier
Defenders: Danilo, Skriniar, Beraldo, Hakimi, Mendes, Mukiele, Zague
Midfielders: Ugarte, Zaïre-Emery, Lee, Soler, Mayulu, E. Mbappé
Forwards: Asensio, Ramos, Barcola, Kolo Muani
Absent – Hernandez, Kimpembe (injury, recovery) Dembélé, Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Mbappé, Ruiz, Vitinha (rest or coach’s decision), Kurzawa (coach’s decision).
