After the game, some voices suggested that the captain of PSG and the French national team should not have engaged with the provoking crowd. Bertrand Latour, a journalist from L’Equipe, voiced his opinion on Twitter, stating, “A captain of the French national team should not do that.”

Mbappé responded to Latour on Twitter, writing, “Of course, and I should have even sung with them when they insulted my teammate. Some people have clearly never set foot on a football field, regardless of the level.”

RMC Sport also reported that chants directed at Achraf Hakimi, a close associate of Kylian Mbappé, and labeling him a “thief” were sung by the Stade Brestois crowd.
