Zidane Will Say Yes to Marseille… If Saudi Arabia Buys the Club

Marseille tried to recruit Zidane before opting for Gattuso. However, according to France Bleu Provence, the ZZ option is not entirely closed.

Will PSG’s dream turn into an Olympian reality? According to France Bleu Provence, Zinedine Zidane did indeed refuse to coach Marseille, but not forever. “Zidane has given his agreement to Saudi Arabia, which has its eye on the Olympique de Marseille club, to become its manager. There are conditions,” France Bleu Provence reports.

Frank McCourt is expected to sell Marseille, a hypothesis that has been the subject of rumors for years but has been consistently denied to this day.

“If Zidane says yes to Marseille, it is only because the project is very ambitious. That is, with a budget that would allow them to compete with the biggest clubs in Europe. This is what the Saudi leaders, with whom he is personally discussing, have guaranteed him,” says France Bleu.

Real Madrid, Juventus, and Marseille are reportedly the only options Zidane is considering, leaving PSG out of the picture. However, his priority remains the French national team. Didier Deschamps is in charge until 2026 at the very least.
