As expected, the President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, has officially resigned from his position.
The RFEF confirmed this decision through a statement, stating that Rubiales had submitted his resignation by letter and had also stepped down from his position as vice-president of UEFA.
This resignation comes amid controversy, as Rubiales kissed the player Jennifer Hermoso on the mouth during Spain’s victory at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which sparked strong reactions.
