Rubiales Scandal : Jennifer Hermoso Denounces Manipulation

Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, has resisted pressure to resign following the controversial stolen kiss incident that caused outrage in Spain.

In response to this situation, members of the Spanish national women’s team signed a collective letter expressing solidarity with the affected player and announcing their decision to boycott national team call-ups if current leaders maintained their stance.

Jennifer Hermoso felt compelled to speak out. “I don’t want to interfere in the ongoing legal processes, but I felt obliged to denounce Luis Rubiales’ words by recounting the incident. They are categorically false and are part of this culture of manipulation that he himself has generated. I felt vulnerable and the victim of an assault, an impulsive, sexist, inappropriate act without any consent from my part,” stated the CF Pachuca forward.

She emphasizes that she will “no longer play for the national team as long as the current leaders remain in place.”
