Neymar Surgery in Brazil Successful

Neymar has ultimately undergone surgery in Brazil, after initially considering a procedure in France.

The Al-Hilal forward, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus injuries in his left knee, had a successful operation on Thursday in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He will be required to stay away from the pitch for an extended period during his recovery.

“The operation was a success. We are very satisfied with the result,” stated Rodrigo Lasmar, the surgeon close to the Seleção who performed the procedure. “He underwent an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and the two meniscal injuries were repaired,” added the surgeon.

Neymar is expected to remain in the hospital “for 24 to 48 hours, depending on his clinical progress,” according to the doctor. Neymar is likely to be sidelined for at least ten months.
