Kylian Mbappé knows how to show gratitude to those who have helped him in the past:

L’Equipe recalls the story of young Kylian Mbappé. As a child and a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, KM traveled with his parents to the Vélodrome on December 8, 2009, to watch an OM – Real Madrid match in the Champions League. His goal was to meet CR7 at all costs.

Unfortunately, Mbappé’s mission to meet Ronaldo was unsuccessful. However, thanks to the intervention of Pape Diouf and Jean-Charles de Bono, a former OM player who has since become a prominent consultant on OM TV and other club-related media, Mbappé was able to meet his idol. De Bono escorted him to the mixed zone, where Mbappé obtained a photo and autograph from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fast forward 15 years later, Kylian Mbappé is now a global superstar. De Bono recalls, “You come home, the phone rings, and you think it’s a joke,” said the former OM player. On the other end of the line was Kylian Mbappé’s mother, inviting de Bono to attend the Portugal – France match, where Mbappé and CR7 would face off.
