Saudi Arabia would push to participate in the Champions League, but UEFA does not hear it that way, for the moment.

Stars flee for money from Saudi Arabia. A real bloodletting this summer which worries European football. At the same time, the Saudi leaders are trying to invite themselves to the Champions League. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Saudis “in the coming months (…) could make a very specific request to UEFA” with the winner of the Saudi Pro League who would have a wild card to participate in the C1.

However, UEFA is currently not discussing the matter at all. UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin raised the subject a few weeks ago. “I think Saudi Arabia is making a mistake for national football. They are replicating China’s mistakes by signing late-career players,” he told NOS.
