The LFP Board of Directors has officially set the dates for the 2025-2026 season. The championship will start on August 15, 2025, and conclude on May 16, 2026.
Due to the 2026 World Cup, the schedule will be adjusted. The LFP highlights that the postponement of the March international break will impact the Round of 16 of European competitions, making the season finale even more intense.
From March onward, clubs involved in European competitions will have no rescheduling options, except for a slot between Matchday 33 and Matchday 34 of Ligue 1 McDonald’s.
An Early Summer Transfer Window
The summer transfer window will open on June 1, 2025, an earlier start decided by FIFA in connection with the Club World Cup, set to take place from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
Clubs participating in this tournament will have an additional transfer window from June 1 to June 10, 2025.
Discussions are ongoing with other European leagues to align the closing date of the summer transfer window and the winter transfer period.
