Luis Enrique is increasingly fielding Bradley Barcola, sidelining Randal Kolo Muani or Gonçalo Ramos. The PSG coach explains his decision.

Kylian Mbappé moved back to the center. Bradley Barcola on the right. Is this PSG’s winning formula this season? Luis Enrique made significant changes in a few matches, relegating Kolo Muani and Ramos to the bench. The Spanish coach justified this decision in a press conference on Saturday. However, he also emphasized the importance of the two “benched” players.

“Is this the best trio since the beginning of the season? I don’t know. Maybe yes, maybe no, but I hope not. I hope we haven’t found the strongest trio yet. If we aim for all the titles, we must be able to rely on all the attackers. That’s the key for me,” said Luis Enrique.

The coach acknowledges, however, that Bradley Barcola has found his place. “The goal when you sign a player is to see how he adapts and integrates into the group. We don’t take age into account. It’s normal for players to have ups and downs,” he said about the former Lyon player.

“I like working with young players as well as more experienced ones. You can be surprised by some players. Some adapt quickly. I want players to progress; that’s my goal, whether they are young or not. What I want is hungry and eager players. You can be hungry at 35.”
