The former PSG and Arsenal player is changing roles, as he has now become the president of Ümraniyespor, a club in Turkey.

Welcomed as the “professor,” Nicolas Anelka has taken on the role of club president in Turkey. He will lead Ümraniyespor, a second-division Turkish club.

“Welcome, Professor! Our club has reached an agreement with Nicolas Anelka for the position of CEO. We welcome Nicolas Anelka and wish him success,” the Turkish club announced in a statement.


In February 2021, he had served as the director of sports for three months at Hyères, a club in the French National 2 league owned by Mourad Boudjellal. Nicolas Anelka had also worked as an assistant coach at Mumbai City in India.
