Luis Enrique provided updates on the PSG squad before the Coupe de France match against Orléans on Saturday.
Barcola: “I have always spoken well of Barcola, even when he didn’t score or was criticized. We know football, there are excesses. We want a stable line; he wasn’t the worst player after Newcastle, and he’s not the best currently. He has a lot of room for improvement.”
Soler: “When I see a player capable of playing well and understanding which situations to control, it’s very interesting. There are many players who can do it in midfield. Carlos Soler is one of those players; I know everyone prefers to play in a specific position. He is a top-level player; I took him to the World Cup where there are 23 world-class players. He can still improve, and that’s what I expect from him.”
Gonçalo Ramos’s Weight Loss: “The reality is that he lost weight, it’s true, I don’t know how much. We could see it, with what it implies. He has been well for weeks. My decisions are clear, and what I can say is that he is a top-level forward like Kolo Muani,” said Luis Enrique.
However, the PSG coach did not confirm the rumors of a potential sale. PSG would be willing to part ways with him for the right offer. “I am very happy with both of them; I hope they are the present and future of the club. There will be moments when they play less, as in every season.”
Coupe de France Dangers: “We analyzed a team playing two divisions below us. They are a professional team; they managed to progress in the Coupe de France even though they are struggling in the league. It’s different from what we faced against Revel. It’s a dangerous competition for the favorites. We will go with our entire available squad.”
Is the pitch ready? “It’s a strange and very different situation. If all circumstances were normal, it would be an opportunity to rotate, but due to the pitch, I will decide who will play after seeing the state of the field. We won’t take risks. There are many possible changes.”
“I will decide who will play and how we will play when I see the state of the pitch. I hope the pitch will be in good condition, but I have doubts. Especially to avoid any physical risks for the players. There are already enough risks in a normal match.”
Mbappé: “I haven’t seen the documentary; I don’t watch TV, only football. It’s life for his future.”
