Jesé Rodriguez and the Brazilian club Coritiba have parted ways.

Another setback for Jesé Rodriguez: after disappointments at PSG, Las Palmas, Stoke City, Sampdoria, and now, the Spanish striker is released by his club Coritiba.

Upon his arrival, Jesé stirred controversy by drawing criticism from a teammate for taking his shirt number. Since then, he has failed to establish himself, playing six matches and scoring only one goal. As a result, the club is nineteenth in the Brazilian Serie A.

Sentenced to relegation, Coritiba announced on Thursday that they are parting ways with Jesé Rodriguez as they begin restructuring the team for the next season.

“Coritiba SAF announces that, from this date, athletes Henrique, Andreas Samaris, Boschilia, Lucas Barbosa, and Jesé Rodríguez are free to carry out activities with the Club. The early release of the athletes is part of the goal of advancing planning, focusing on the 2024 season,” the club stated in a press release.
