Dugarry Criticizes Ligue 1: “An Absolute Purge”

Christophe Dugarry didn’t mince his words when expressing his disappointment with the 12th round of Ligue 1 matches. His sentiments and frustration were shared during the “Rothen s’enflamme” show on RMC this Monday.

Is Ligue 1 in dire straits? For Christophe Dugarry, the answer is a resounding yes. “We need to open our eyes. If someone explains to me that Ligue 1 is good, I’d like to see a few matches. The Lens-OM game on Sunday evening (1-0) was just cataclysmic. It was an absolute purge. I also watched Le Havre-Monaco (0-0), horrible. I saw Montpellier-Nice (0-0), I think they could have played for four and a half hours, and they would never have scored a goal. They were staring into each other’s eyes. We wondered if they were going to end up making love, a little stolen kiss or something, but nothing at all. It was just horrible.”

“It’s an absolute purge. When I watched Rennes-Lyon (0-1), it was horrible. In Lyon, my friend Cherki, his match was an absolute disgrace. I’ve never seen a guy walk so much. Not a sprint, not a change of pace, nothing. It was a purge. Nothing is happening.”

“We have a Spanish coach at Paris Saint-Germain (Luis Enrique), who arrives with lots of good intentions and good ideas. For now, I don’t see the collective game either.
