Lionel Messi made no mention of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in his speech after receiving his eighth Ballon d’Or.

However, Lionel Messi does have some positive things to say about Paris, just not about PSG. After being awarded his Ballon d’Or, the Argentine discussed his departure from the capital. “What memories do I have of PSG? I had to cut short my time in Paris for various reasons, but I enjoyed it a lot,” the Inter Miami attacking midfielder responded in a press conference.

“I was very happy here, and my children loved the city. They wanted to continue in France, stay in school here, and not leave their friends. From a sporting perspective, it didn’t quite go as I had hoped, but I have many good memories, and they are plentiful.”

A journalist then posed the inevitable question: will he celebrate his 8th Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes? “I don’t think the people of Paris want me to come and present my Ballon d’Or,” the Argentine replied, who also hadn’t presented the World Cup either.
