Julian Draxler left PSG during the summer transfer window, and according to him, part of the reason was the insecurity in Paris.

PSG players are often targeted by burglars, who can sometimes be violent and traumatizing, as seen recently with Gigi Donnarumma. Julian Draxler asserts that this insecurity played a role in his decision to leave PSG and Paris.

“Just before going to Qatar, people came to my door, and in their car, they didn’t have handcuffs but cable ties to immobilize us,” Julian Draxler recounted to Sky Sport television. “Crime is becoming uncontrollable in Paris, and as a family man now, I thought, who knows, maybe it’s a sign from above to try something else.”

On the social network LinkedIn, Julian Draxler had also stated that his departure from PSG was motivated by financial matters: “After 12 years in Europe, all that matters to me is experiencing a new culture, living a new international experience, being part of an exciting project in the Arab world, and leaving the subject of money behind. Even if these aspects are honestly true, it would still be a lie if the financial part wasn’t also decisive in this case.”
