Marco Asensio, 27 years old and playing as a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, was forced to leave the field in the first half during Spain’s victory over Georgia on Friday night (1-7).
It was more of a scare than a serious injury for Marco Asensio. The Spanish forward won’t be able to participate in the match against Cyprus scheduled for Tuesday.
However, the injury is likely less severe than initially feared, probably a minor foot injury. Spain’s manager, Luis de la Fuente, has indicated that there should be no major problem. The player has returned to Paris for treatment with PSG.
