In a medical update on Tuesday, August 22, PSG announced the serious injury of Kang-In Lee.

The timing couldn’t be worse. With Neymar sold and no planned midfield recruitment, the PSG is now facing the absence of Kang-In Lee due to injury. The South Korean player, who was recruited this summer from Malaga, is set to be sidelined for an extended period.

“Struck in the left quadriceps, Kang-In Lee will remain in treatment at least until the end of the upcoming international break,” PSG stated. The next international matches are scheduled until mid-September. This means Kang-In Lee is likely to miss games against Lens, Lyon, Nice, and perhaps even the PSG/OM match on September 24. All of these are significant matches.

Consequently, PSG will be without creative players for the upcoming weeks. It appears that a last-minute transfer in the panic-buying fashion might be in the cards before the end of the transfer window.
