Lucas Hernandez discusses his decision to join PSG in L’Equipe.

Lucas Hernandez, one of the pillars of the future PSG? With doubts surrounding Kylian Mbappé, Marco Verratti, and Marquinhos, the French defender has become one of the key figures in the team, despite having just arrived. According to L’Equipe, he was partly convinced by… Mbappé. The two players had a conversation about it over the phone.

Lucas Hernandez also opens up about his decision in an interview. “It’s a very attractive project, as seen this year with the opening of the new training center, which is the best in Europe and probably in the world. It’s unique. The club is growing and improving every year. It’s things like this that convince new players like me to come, with the desire to win everything, to feel the pressure of winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Champions League.”

“The interest of PSG, its ambition, and the project that the management wants to implement in the future convinced me. I talked about it with my close ones, and I am also very ambitious, so I will try to make history with the club. Not to become a legend, but to do everything to win everything with Paris. That’s what motivated me.”

Lucas Hernandez also addresses the controversy surrounding his attachment to Marseille. “I was born in Marseille, but I can’t do anything about it. I have never lived in Marseille, my only memory is when I beat OM with Atlético Madrid in the Europa League final. Other than that, I have nothing that ties me to the city, no family members…”
