All three parties involved are in agreement for the Portuguese player to join Barcelona. For Atlético, this loan deal with an option to buy would be a way to recoup a part of the significant €126 million investment they made to acquire João Félix in 2019, as a replacement for Antoine Griezmann, who left for Barcelona and then returned to Madrid to compete with… João Félix.
The final details of the agreement are currently being worked out, with the involvement of the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who has good relations with both clubs in La Liga.
