PSG Recruited Kang-In Lee, but Absences Expected for Important Competitions : Lee’s Participation in Asian Games and Asian Cup May Impact Military Service.

PSG has signed Kang-In Lee, the 22-year-old South Korean player, but he is expected to be absent for several weeks this season. Lee has been selected by South Korea for the Asian Games, taking place in late September. PSG has yet to give its approval, and Lee is also likely to participate in the Asian Cup in January.

These two competitions hold significant importance for Kang-In Lee. If he wins either of them, it could greatly reduce (by a few weeks) his mandatory military service, which typically lasts 18 months and must be completed before the age of 30 in South Korea. He may even be exempted from the service entirely.

Considering the potential benefits for Lee, PSG is expected to approve his participation in these competitions, despite him having eight more years to fulfill his military service. It’s worth noting that Lee’s contract with PSG is for five seasons.
